The problem is rarely the traffic
Most sites that under-perform are not short of visitors. They are unclear. A visitor lands, cannot tell within a few seconds what is being offered, who it is for, why this company rather than another, and what happens if they take the next step. So they leave, and the ad budget or the ranking that brought them there is spent twice: once to acquire them, once to acquire them again.
Conversion-focused web design treats that gap as a design problem, not a decoration problem. Layout, hierarchy, wording, proof, page speed and the single next action are all decided against one question: does this make the decision easier or harder?
Who this is for
This service fits a business that already has demand and loses it on the way through. Typically:
- You run Meta or Google Ads and the click cost is acceptable, but the enquiries or orders are not.
- Your site was built around what the company wanted to say, not around what a buyer needs to decide.
- You have added pages and offers over time and the structure no longer holds together.
- Your business is credible in person and does not look credible online.
It fits less well if you have almost no traffic at all. In that case the bottleneck is acquisition, not conversion, and paid media and SEO should come first or run alongside. We will say so rather than sell you the wrong thing.
What we actually change
Message and structure
We define what the page must prove, in what order, before any visual work. The offer, the audience, the objections and the single action come first. Sections are then written and sequenced to answer the questions in the order a real buyer asks them.
Proof and objection handling
Credibility is built from things that can be checked: real work, real scope, real technology, clear terms, visible pricing logic where it exists. We do not add rating badges, invented testimonials or partner logos that are not earned. A trust signal that a visitor can disprove costs more than it gains.
The path to one action
Each page is given one primary action and a predictable route to it. Competing buttons are removed, forms are shortened to what is genuinely needed, and the conversation channel is the one your customers actually use — a form, a call, or a direct WhatsApp thread, which for several markets converts better than any form.
Speed and stability
Slow pages lose people before the design is even read. We work on the parts that actually move the metric: hero image weight and format, explicit image dimensions, font loading, deferring non-critical JavaScript, and lazy-loading what is below the fold. Targets are the Core Web Vitals thresholds — Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5 s, Interaction to Next Paint under 200 ms, Cumulative Layout Shift under 0.1.
Measurement
A redesign without measurement is an opinion. We set up event tracking for the actions that matter — enquiry sent, WhatsApp opened, checkout started — so that after launch you can see what changed instead of guessing. This is also why we can connect the work to campaign management when it is useful.
How the project runs
1. Audit and benchmark
We review the current site page by page against the journey a buyer takes, and compare it with the competitors that actually appear for your searches. Output: a prioritised list of what is costing you conversions.
2. Structure
Page inventory, one intention per page, section-by-section content plan, and the internal links that hold it together.
3. Design
Layouts designed against the structure, desktop and mobile, with the mobile journey treated as the primary one rather than an adaptation.
4. Build
Front-end development on the platform that suits the case — WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, YouCan, Webflow or a static build — with performance and accessibility handled during the build, not patched afterwards.
5. Measurement and handover
Tracking installed and verified, redirects mapped if URLs change, and a documented handover so the site remains maintainable without us.
Proof from real projects
Two client projects show this approach applied end to end. Belzana was a premium handbag launch where the whole journey was built toward a single direct ordering action on mobile. Academy Anas Ibn Malik was a bilingual academy site restructured around the questions students and parents ask first, across two reading directions.
Both case studies describe the context, the decisions and the scope actually delivered. They do not publish conversion percentages or revenue figures, because we did not run a measured before-and-after test on those projects and we will not invent one.
What we do not promise
- No guaranteed conversion rate, ranking or revenue figure. Anyone promising one is guessing on your behalf.
- No statistically valid A/B test on low-traffic sites. Below a few thousand conversions a month, a test result is usually noise, and we will tell you when your volume cannot support one.
- No fabricated proof. No invented reviews, no unverified badges, no borrowed client logos.
- Design cannot repair a weak offer, an uncompetitive price or a product nobody wants. It can only stop those from being hidden.
Questions we get asked
Do you redesign the whole site or only the pages that matter?
Either. Where a site is structurally sound we rebuild only the pages carrying the decision. Where the structure itself is the problem, a partial fix moves the bottleneck instead of removing it, and we will say which case you are in after the audit.
Will a redesign lose our existing rankings?
Not if the migration is handled properly. Ranking URLs are inventoried before any change, mapped one to one, redirected with 301s, and the sitemap is resubmitted. Losses happen when this step is skipped, not because a site was redesigned.
Which platform do you build on?
The one that fits the case and that your team can keep running. We work with WordPress and WooCommerce, Shopify, YouCan, Webflow, Framer and static builds. We do not push a platform because it is convenient for us.
How long does it take?
It depends on the number of pages, the amount of content to rewrite and how quickly decisions come back. The schedule and milestones are fixed in the proposal before production starts, not estimated afterwards.
What do you need from us?
Access to the current site and analytics, someone who can decide, and honest answers about what actually sells. That is usually enough to start.
